On this AAAP Complimentary Training Day, we will explore the many contributing factors that can lead to gut problems. Only 1 in 8 people feel a gut issue in their gut. Things like bloating, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, reflux and pain all tell us something’s wrong with our digestion but what about the other 7/8’s of us? Could it be that other symptoms and conditions like allergies, insomnia, depression and anxiety, fatigue, infertility, thyroid issues, asthma, eczema, psoriasis, autism, MS, Alzheimer’s, weight gain and obesity, diabetes, auto-immune diseases, hormone imbalance and some cancers can all be traced back to poor gut health? Current cutting edge research says yes.

With the gut, we have an organ in our body that weighs as much as our brain. It affects your health, your weight, and even your behaviour and mood. Currently we’re being told, if you eat this you'll have a healthier microbiome and that'll mean you'll enjoy better health. It’s not as simple as that - although diet is of course hugely important - there’s still so much we don’t know. We’ve only just seriously begun to research and study the gut in the last decade or so. Incredible really, considering its effect on our health – body and mind.

Join this fascinating day and learn more about the many factors that can contribute to gut disease:
Antibiotics, and over-prescription of them
The Modern Diet including the processing of grains, dairy and sugar; the introduction of GMO foods, agricultural chemicals our food is grown with; trans-fats
Chronic stress
Prescription and non-prescription drugs such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) like Nurofen, anti-depressants, HRT and the contraceptive pill
Caesarian births and a preference for baby formula over mother’s milk
Hormones disruptors (Xenoestrogens) in cosmetics, cleaning products, household items and pollution.
Antibacterial soaps and our obsessive need for cleanliness
• Chlorinated water

Printed course notes will be provided at the event. If you are planning to attend, please purchase your ticket by Wednesday 2nd August in order to be guaranteed a copy of these notes.

This event will be filmed. Order your copy of the recording in USB or download format from the AAAP Shop. Reduced rate available for ticket holders.
